We shouldn't even be here. This identical matter was settled in 2016 in Hellerstedt v. Whole Woman's Health in Texas. Louisiana's law was found by the Court to be identical. But the 5th Circuit Court, loaded with conservatives and seeing a new Supreme Court since 2016 with the addition of the conservative Justice Kavanaugh, thought it would give it a shot and ruled the Louisiana law would stand, setting up this ruling, hoping for a different result. Looking back a few months ago, life was pretty simple. The primary responsibility of a Pinkhouse Defender was to get patients from their car to the clinic door with as little harassment as possible and make sure folks parked right. When you've done this as long as we have, the circus on the sidewalk was commonplace, just another ordinary day at the Pinkhouse. Then Covid-19 happened and suddenly, almost everything changed. What has not changed is the anti presence at the clinic.
