OSA - How "Manly"

This time of year usually brings travel and summer vacations, but coronavirus has changed that for most people. Even some, but not all, anti-abortion extremists, have decided not to travel. Normally Operation Rescue/Operation Save America (OSA) would be holding their annual national event and harassing people in some unfortunate city right now, but due to the coronavirus, they moved it online.

But the great folks at Abortion Access Front (AAF) that countered last year’s OSA event in Milwaukee with the Garbage Fyre Fest, have gone online as well to counter the OSA event this year with “Operation Save America Unmasked”. OSA Unmasked is a week of information and activities online to shine a light on this group that is operating under the radar and pushing their religion-based legislation throughout the country.

They are training their followers to lobby lawmakers to pass their extremist legislation. Even though it may not pass today, it pushes legislation to further extremes, making other laws look reasonable by comparison.

We have seen some of their speakers’ presentations during the event. All white men, talking about being a “real” man, and stopping abortion. Women are not mentioned except in relation to children and men, never as independent, autonomous people. Even when railing against abortion, they rarely mention women. Imagine that.

From the sidewalks to the halls of the legislatures…it all starts at the sidewalks.
