It's The Patriarchy, Y'all

Well, y’all. Not a lot to say about all the legal shenanigans as of late about abortion, abortion pills, etc. Here we are, 9 months after Dobbs.

Things are horrible. All the new laws, new rulings…who can keep up? And that is part of the reason a lot of this is happening – antis working to keep people guessing about what is legal where, what the law is. Antis gonna anti, they’ve been doing it for years. And as a byproduct, they are further destroying our legal system and people’s lives. Cruelty seems to be the point.

But WHY is this happening? In all this reporting and noise, the “why” doesn’t seem to get discussed often. This is happening because our rights are subject to religion – religious based court rulings and legislation. It’s the patriarchy, y’all.

One of the patriarchy’s favorite tools is religion. Full stop.

And until those of us who support the right to safe legal abortion OUT VOTE the MINORITY single-issue, anti-abortion voter, we will ALWAYS be in danger of a nationwide abortion ban and real “personhood” for the “unborn” relegating us to less than equal.

We ENGAGE has ALWAYS believed in standing up to the antis that want everyone one ELSE to be second class citizens.  It matters. Stand up for your rights, our rights, and make your voice heard, because they have taken up all the space and been the loudest in the room for WAY too long. Number one, we have to stand up and say “NO” at the ballot box – antis are a MINORITY, and we CAN out vote them. Vote and make sure everyone you know does too.

And the patriarchy is some bullshit. Let’s act accordingly.
