This past year, we saw antis from Operation Save America (OSA), a large anti-abortion extremist group, blockade a clinic in Sterling Heights, MI, and the police were deferential to them the whole time; at last check, they had been charged with trespassing, although what they did is a federal crime under the Federal Access to Clinic Entrances Act.

We also saw the Proud Boys show up outside a Planned Parenthood in Charleston, SC. Antis invited them because people had started showing up to support Planned Parenthood and their patients against their harassment.

We saw antis show up to capitol buildings across the country, many times armed, to demand the government "open up the state", despite the dangers during the pandemic.

On January 6th, there were SO many antis in Washington D.C at the U.S. Capitol. This Venn Diagram is a circle – the extreme right wing and anti-abortion extremists - these factions are pretty much the same. All this entitlement that anti-abortion “protesters” feel at clinics was on display at the Capitol on Wednesday. They felt like nothing would happen to them, because it rarely if ever does.

People that are in reproductive rights and justice work have seen this behavior for years, and literally saw SO many antis they knew at the Capitol.

Derrick Evans, the West Virginia lawmaker who live streamed on Facebook going into the Capitol, has a restraining order against him for stalking a clinic escort at the last clinic in WV. John Brockhoeft, convicted clinic arsonist, was there. Tayler Hansen, the anti who painted “Baby Lives Matter” in front of clinics last year, was standing next to Ashli Babbit, the woman who was shot inside the Capitol, and was interviewed by Laura Ingraham on Fox News. And SO MANY MORE.

So, here’s one of them. OSA Assistant National Director Jason Storms. Storms was hanging off the scaffolding at the Capitol as he made this video, declaring support for Revolution 2.0. Storms later released a statement, where he supports the actions of those in the Capitol Tuesday. Screenshots are here, along with a few other items.

But wait, there’s more…these people are making organizing and getting elected a priority. See John Jacob in Indiana and Warren Hamilton in Oklahoma along with Evans, to name a few. These people are waging a war that the rest of us don’t even acknowledge. By the time we do, it may be too late. They want their religious beliefs to rule us all - that is their goal.

However, since the attack on the Capitol, Evans has resigned his office. Accountability is the only way we will see any change - at the U.S. Capitol, at state capitols and on the sidewalks.

Engagement matters, y’all. For all of us. We engage, and you should too. Let people know this is NOT OK, and hold them accountable.
